Play Therapy
At Petite Therapy, we recognise that children often communicate best through play rather than words. Play Therapy provides a safe, creative space where children can express their thoughts and feelings using toys, stories, movement, and imagination — helping them make sense of experiences that may feel confusing or overwhelming.
Through play, children explore emotions, practise problem-solving, and build confidence in their own abilities. Sessions may include sensory play, art, sand, or role-play, depending on what helps each child feel comfortable and understood.
Play Therapy can support children who are experiencing anxiety, trauma, attachment difficulties, loss, or challenges with emotional regulation and relationships. It can also benefit neurodivergent children who may find traditional talking therapies difficult.
At Petite Therapy, Play Therapy is integrated within our wider occupational therapy and sensory-based work, allowing children to develop regulation, resilience, and emotional understanding in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.
